CENTRAL SQUARE
For traditional rural communities, festivals have always been the annual reference point, determined by the cycle of time and the Orthodox calendar. The feast begins on the eve of the feast of the village’s main church. In recent decades, villagers, who live mostly in the city, are redecorating the summer season. Local festivals in this context literally convey the community life, which culminates with the feast in the public space. In the middle village, the eternal scenography hosts an equally prominent dramaturgy, with co-performers re-discovering each year the familiar gestures of music and dance.
